It is widely accepted that the optimum numbers of layers of glue is eight. (great white truth!) I always get a few layers on a new/peeled rubber before playing and peel when the new glue isnt getting through the old glue layers to the sponge. If I am playing in the evening I stick a wetty on during the afternoon. Then I aim to be properly glued up with two more layers and the bat in the press (no need if using fair chack but important if using stiga glues) 10 mminutes before playing. Regluing after 1 1/12 hours seems to be necessary. |
