If you are playing someone better than yourself (and you know you can't win) use the match as practise and study how your opponent plays.
Study how the ball reacts off your bat with your opponents extra spin/speed.
Try to work out what shot your opponent is winning points with and then try to prevent him doing this shot or anticipate it.
Work on different serves and try to see what troubles your opponent.
If you work on some of these things you may score more points than you otherwise would and you may get some ideas on how to play your opponent next time.
