Well, I would think the weight and balance of the blade would make a difference. A very light blade defensive blade should in theory make you feel the imbalance more.. I have an OFF blade, that is 88g. On FH right now I have Friendship 729 -40S, which is rather heavy... On the other side I have some short pips with a thin sponge. At first I could feel the imbalance, but after a while of playing like this, I got used to it and no longer "feel" it. I would guess that the imbalance would make only a small difference physics wise. The only time the imbalance would play a role in the physics is the angling of the paddle. The stroke's forward or angular momentum shouldn't really be effected by it. It could have a mental effect on a player though if he is used to a certain feel. |
