Thanks for the feedback. You're preachin' to the choir that $100+ is a lot to spend on a blade- newbie or not. The problem is I'm having trouble finding a reasonably priced defensive blade with carbon layers (or similar.) I love the feeling of a big sweet spot, so I'm reluctant to move to an all wood blade. Most of the carbon blades made are OFF, and I don't think they'll have the touch I want. Can you think of any other blades that are at least somewhat oversized, and have the sweet spot effect of carbon/glassfibre/kevlar/whatever without losing the 'touch' I need to hit backspin effectively. The Nittaku Monophonic seems like one of the few reasonably priced blades that might fit the bill. Has anybody tried this blade? Can anyone think of some other blades that might fall in this category? Thanks again K PS and what are the properties of glassfibre? |
