I actually noticed something similar, though I am using Mendo MP (Red, max) on forhand.

In some reviews, I read that it was supposed to be a very fast rubber, but I found it slower than Ekrips (Black 2.1) that I use on backhand.

Regarding ball dropping into the net, I noticed that Mendo MP produces low trajectory shots and I had to initially adjust my shots slightly. Once I got used it, I really like this rubber.
