never tried this one but i thought about it i believe it is a 9.5 mm thick single ply hinoki right? i guess for the price it must be a medium speed drive pen probably like my chiang peng lung it is 9.3 mm thick but is a few mm longer.most hinoki blades i have played with play very similar soft feel with good touch and excellent speed for an all wood blade.butterfly makes excellent j pens so i would say try it if the price is right.I think $50 for a single ply hinoki is a good deal.if you get it let us know about it there are a few j pen players here i have chiang peng lung,cypress s and lendido right now if you have any questions on these let me know. good luck
