i have studied also sean o neal's loop version and also use the form sparingly.it is also very applicable,since you can give instant loop return.the problem with this technique is you cannot give maximum power on your loop since you cannot close the racket effectively.you also cannot loop back a looped shot.another limitation of this form is you cannot readily go for a flat drive because of the racket position.In my opinion, loop shots has approximately 3 major positions that you should learn.looping underspin is also one of them which also requires a different touch and racket position.
