Go to walmart and get a small can of minwax polyurithane in a blue pint can. Dampen a rag and wipe it on thinly but evenly. The blade should barely be damp. If you put it on thick enough that you can feel it when it dries you've put it on too thick. The danger is that it will stiffen your blade.

If you want to you can hit problem areas or strips a little heavier like with a qtip.
