the weight difference between the blades is usually just the water content.how do the grains compare to each other?look at the edge of the blade.is your kim blade a center cut?most are off center i bet your darker is probably a center cut.head design and thickness of cork on the finger board and backside also play into the over all feel of the blade.do you have the same rubber sheet on your blades?very minor differences make j pens feel different from another. One time on my old kim blade the metal butterfly logo on the end of the handle came a little loose.just from the vibration of that emblem it felt like my blade was cracked.does your kim have more feel than your darker? This is why i don't really care for darker cause all the j pens i had by them seem to lack that feel to me.they play good but don't have that hinoki feel i like. |
