The Xiom Musa rubber was not suit me well. It was too slow for FH and too fast for BH, and the amount of spin was not as big as I expected.
Two undoubted advantages of this rubber are: a high level of control and great durability.
To sum up, my rating for Xiom Musa (in scale 1 to 10) is:
Speed = 8,5
Spin = 7,5
Control = 8,6

Only for beginners to learn the proper strokes as it is not that fast and not that spinny. Forgiveness and ease-of-use aside, it does nothing well. I'd heard it was good for chopping, but it wasn't because the spin was so low compared to other slower/deader rubbers (Marder, Tackiness Chop, etc.). A cadet at my club uses it and plays well, but I'd go as far to suggest that that is now in spite of the rubber as because of it. Spend money elsewhere. (Just to note that I love Xiom products in general, but I just can't see the point of this other than as a cheapish introductory rubber, and even then there would be better ones.)

This is a great product at a great price. This would be the rubber that I would recommend to a beginner. But don't be fooled, you can play well with this rubber until intermed level. From this the next step would be a Xiom Intro (introduction to tensors) and from there the Xiom Vega Pro (X). I think if you are serious about competing, you learn the basic strokes with a simple rubber (that has good spin) like this one. Don't start with a tensor right away.

I use it in the backhand because I find it easy to control, and as a left-handed I use a lot my backhand, not recommended if you're looking for speed I don't consider this rubber as an offensive option, more like an offensive all-rounder

Tested in black, 1.5mm: Very soft. Not suitable for hard hitters in this thickness, difficult to find consistency. Hitting softly, playing consistent shots is much easier. Control and placement at low gears is great, and spin is better than the term "non-tensor" would suggest. Nothing exceptional, mind you. Good first rubber since easy to use. Enjoy your TT!

Why is everybody talking about this rubber as a backhand rubber? I think it depends on your playing style. I use it on my forehand side. I am a defensive player with a Toni Hold blade. On my backhand i use butterfly challenger 1,5 mm and on the forehand 1.5 mm xiom musa. Xiom musa gives me lots of control because of it's relative soft sponge. It also generates lots of effect. For me this is my no1 rubber to defend incoming topspin balls.

rubber is spinny but slower than modern tensors. musa is good for openning loop over the table but not so fast to finish the point safely. i use it only to open the rally and put my forehand (Skyline TG3 NEO) in action. if you are backhand oriented player this rubber wont be good for you cos losing the initiative is pretty easy if the rallies are bh-bh vs tensor. musa has also very good control for pushing short or punch blocking but misses high speed gears to be consistent offensive rubber.

Best Backhand rubber for enhanced backhand skills. This rubber will unleash its deadliness in correct strokes.

Easily one of the best backhand rubbers I used. maybe a bit slow, but with such a great control, it's not a problem to hit really powerful shots without fear of missing the table.

A non-tensor German rubber, along the lines of Andro Shifter. Surprisingly slow, considering the marketing Xiom has put out. Good spin - topsheet is very grippy. Very, very linear, not bouncy like tensors at all.

With its characteristics, this would make a great backhand rubber if you don't need low-speed bounce.
