It is not very fast. It is surprisingly slow. It is heavy even at 1.7 mm. Spin is good. The sponge is made in Japan. The topsheet is probably made in China. I would not buy it again.

I've used red and black both in 1.7 and 2.1 sponge. I really like the versatility of this rubber! There is a lot of initial tack, enough to pick up a ball, and the sponge feels dead at first. It takes about 3hrs of play to lively up, and starts to play as the hybrid rubber it's labeled as. It does not play like T05 or H3N...it plays like toned down versions of both. Its not as springy as tenergy, not as tacky as neo. On slow swings, the tacky feeling takes over and it can produce great spin on serve and pushes. On fast swings it feels like a tensor, the catapult effect overrides its tackiness. Drives are its strong point, can really produce a fast and low arc bounce. The 1.7 can produce some monster underspin like BTY Tackiness Chop, whereas the 2.1 is a little bouncy. Not the best for lifting backspin with a brush, I think that is its weakness. Gambler says its 60% tacky and 40% mechanical spin but it feels opposite to me. When it starts to wear, the speed stays but the spin drops. However, I get a few months of 2x a week play out if it before that happens. For $14 a sheet, its a steal.

So much fun to play with Nine Ultra Tacky! Super grippy, slightly more so than MechTek Predator. Hybrid rubber so not really ultra tacky(Burst is tackier). Amazing combo of spin and speed. Rewards you for perfect strokes with perfect placed power shots. Cant beat the price! Great rubber!!!
