I play frequently with both this Donic and the Viscaria. They are VERY similar and I actually like the Donic better. The germans just did this one right. psychologically speaking I see people have this loyalty to viscaria. attachment to the brand. and the price they paid. This clouds their judgement. But I have strictly played both blades only and with same rubbers over time because I simply couldn't make up my mind which one I liked the best. But because the Donic is much cheaper I wish to give the win to Donic. now that I think about it I actually remember the Donic is easier to match up with very different rubbers where the viscaria just didnt fully "click" with some of them for some reason. Subtle feel difference. All the rubbers loved the Donic blade.

Very good blade , medium hard feel , best match with Baracuda and Killer Pro. I have 2 pcs 88 and 86 gramm. This ALC blade is by many compared with Butterfly Viscaria and evaluated as very close to this blade. I dont know , i havent some experience with Viscaria , but I am satisfied with. Very balanced ratio control/pover , not very sensitive to incomming rotation.Blocking game significantly better as with my last blade , enough spin and what me surprissed - it is to dampening by passive strokes close to table. Edit 28.6.19: I am went back after while with another good blade. True Carbon is for me IMO very balanced - speed on the board , but at the table controll...controll...I am with this blade most agresive and dangerous. I optimized weight whole racket with Dawei C1 1,8mm - 176 gramm. Ideal for me at the table.

My fastest blade had to swap the mxp on the forehand side coz the ball was shooting like a gun if you got the skills and the technique then then best choice. I use now hurricane 3 on forehand and tenergy 05 on backhand side. Its faster and better than the boll alc or viscaria

I am an intermediate (above average) FH looper who likes to end rallies with good FH spin placement. I also attack with my BH occasionally. Donic OTC is a good blade for attackers who also want good ball feel on controlled strokes like short pushes, flicks and blocks. For my style and level, the blade is best suited for medium or medium hard rubbers with 1.9 or 2.0 thickness, not max especially if you're an attacker who's looking for controlled loops. I don't think using max sponge rubbers for extra speed is necessary because the blade itself is already fast. I would rather focus on maximizing the blade's potential in terms of ball feel. However, I'm not saying that using max rubbers with this blade would automatically compromise your game. What I would like to point out is that if ever you feel that your rubber is too thick, bouncy or heavy for this blade, switching to rubbers with 1.9-2.0 thickness is the solution. It will not produce as much speed compared to max rubbers, but it will certainly increase your ball feel and stroke consistency. I used Tibhar Evolution MX-P (1.9-2.0) for my FH and Donic Baracuda (Max) for my BH. The setup for my FH provides the best balance of spin, speed, control and feel i've ever experienced for my playstyle and my level. It did not produce as much power compared to max sponge rubbers, but gave more feel and dwell. My serves were a lot more spinny with this setup because the ball did not rebound as fast as rubbers with max thickness. Blocks were also a lot easier with the thinner sponge. For my BH, counterhitting and looping was easy for me. It was also fairly easy to block fast and powerful attacks but hard for me to block slow and spinny topspins due to added spin sensitivity and lack of wood feel. Ok with flicking but not too spinny. Just enough to lift the ball. I'm planning to change my BH to Donic Baracuda with 2.0 thickness help me feel the blade better.

This blade has similar speed and control to Ovtcharov Senso Carbon. But it has different feel from the Senso Carbon. This blade is thinner, harder, and more crisp than senso carbon. Its a very good offensive blade. I recommend medium hard rubbers or medium rubbers. Hard rubbers might make it harder to control.
2019-December UPDATE: Spent past few months playing with OTC and Xiom Stradivarius, both are Viscaria clones and quite similar. I definitely like the OTC more. I put a new sheet of Battle II (39 degrees) on FH and Vega Pro (2mm) on BH. This is a stiff and fast blade, with crisp, solid feeling. The dwell time is noticeably shorter than inner structure blades like Long 5. OTC's stiffness and hardness, combined with hard rubbers, make blocking and counter looping easy. Drives and loop drives are very solid and secure on both FH and BH, with none of the hollow feelings of some newer blades. Short game is also great. It's easy to keep touch shots short; long pushes are spinny and fast. The only drawback for OTC (compared to softer blades) is the short dwell time and middle to low throw angle. This means it's harder to make spinny brush loops; the margin of error is also smaller for opening shots against backspin. But if you are skilled enough to consistently open up with OTC on both wings, your attacks from close to mid-range are especially deadly. Even when you back away from the table, OTC still has enough power to easily land threatening shots on the table. While I like OTC a lot, this blade is too fast for me. I cannot consistently open up attacks with it. I'll probably go back to a slower, more flexible blade like Carbonado 45 or Acoustic Carbon Inner for better consistency and spin.

If you want a great blade that can do it all very well, and at a very good price, then get this blade. you will be glad you did. It plays like a quality Butterfly ALC at considerably less $$$$. Great blade for third shot type game. i ordered mine for 88-90 grams and have Xiom Omega Tour FH, Omega V Asia backhand. I'm using this blade now instead of my Xiom Vega Tour blade, which had been my blade for some time.

This blade is similar to Viscaria, but IHO, it is actually better than Viscaria. The handle is not as huge as Viscaria, but the control and balance is better than Viscaria. It is also faster than Viscaria.

I tested this blade with tenergy 05 fh and t64 on the back hand for comparison wih the Viscaria. I can say the True Carbon is faster than Viscaria. In terms of dwell time both have the same feeling and boh blades created a very spinny loop due to the dwell time. I find the True carbon has a low to medium throw compare to Viscaria which has a high throw. At the end of my testing and comparisons between the two blades, I choose the True carbon. Personal preference.
