This was my first custom made racket w Donic barracuda (dont remember the sponge thickness) both sides. I came from a crappy kinson premade bat btw. It was so much heavier but a easy to get used to after a week or two. I actually learnt how to lift backspin on both FH and BH on this blade. Great for begginers but I would reccomend a evolution mxp for FH insteak of a barracuda (youll see why when u play). But barracuda on Bh is great. I also heard sriver on both sides was reccomended but Im not sure because I havent tried that but sriver is a good transition into the real tenergy and dignics rubbers that Im using now so both combos r fine. More about the blade: You HAVE to apply a protection tale around the blade edge because the side wood is quite fragile.
