I think this blade was ahead of its time and I can see why Xiom would discontinue as blades using similar materials are 2-4 times the price. Special construction is individual zylon and carbon plies instead of being interwoven.
Mine is 87g and for me this is the perfect blade if I decide to play double inverted offensive pressure style after 4th/5th ball. A mix of drive looping and spin looping on offensive actions and blocking hard/countering if opponent attacks first. On receive I tend not to banana flick unless it is very very obvious I should initiate topspin. I would much rather approach the rally using touch/short receive in initial phase and work patterns from there using passive and active blocking. Hence soft touch, feeling and necessary ending point power is required.
The muted feel of the composite layers actually seems to make my rubbers feel less spin sensitive. With carbon & zylon layers this has the top gear when hitting hard into the sponge/wood I am looking for. I don't feel I ever bottom out even loop drive/bh punch at maximum power.
I have only used med to hard sponged rubbers from ESN 47.5 to 52-57 and all play well. I feel the sweet spot is just above 50 degrees. Rakza Z EH & H3 play very very well. Hexer PG/AK47 Red just getting mushy.
