I have 2 of them... and they are completely different. First a ST handle at 79 gr. Sounds as reviewers describe. Very hollow sound, like a bell. Above1500Hz.
Feels springy, very fast but linear (off to off+), like not having a lot of dwell, feels not very spinny.
Yet it has more spin, more control than you expected. (BTY D05 max both sides). A fast, direct, stiff, not too hard topspin machine close to the table. Very dangerous, yet more control than you'd expect - no beginners blade. Excellent fast blocks. Very stable and consitant. I liked it, so I bought a second one, FL handle, 81 gr. And was disappointed - at first. No hollow bell sound. Much lower frequency (approx. 1300Hz, MUCH lower than the other JC much lower than TB ALC).
First both sides BTY D5 again, then I slapped DHS H3 nat blue 40 deg. (tuned) on forehand and DHS H3 nat orange 37 deg. (tuned) on it. Plays like a more stable, more linear BTY IF layer ALC. Speed off-, stiff but soft feeling, VERY high spin, lots of dwell, lots of control in matches. Plays better in matches than in drill. Blocking in drills is doable, but not funny. Blocking in matches: the higher the incoming energy and the higher the incoming spin, the better it blocks. Produces surprising speed, very high spin, but can also take all energy out, and take all spin out of the ball. Best chop-blocks. Widest range of gears. It gives you a feeling of control in matches resulting in the fact, that i play more agressively.
Both very good, but very different - i have never experienced that two equal blades (even similar weight), play so differently - production consistency?.
So I give two scores. The scores refer to the same rubbers, I tried H3 / D5 on both.
ST handle: speed 9.5, control 9 (for advanced payers), stiffness: stiff, hardness: medium hard, consistency 10, catapult: medium high.
FL handle: speed 8.5, control 9.5, stiffness: stiff, hardness: medium soft, consistency 10, catapult: medium low
