Customer review for Sanwei Prism

Sanwei Prism
Ex Viscaria Super ALC user here. My problem with VSALC is that the longer I use it, the more I rely on only its raw power and the less I developed my control and spin. Then I was suggested to move on to inner carbon blade to learn truly about my control ability and what is missing when I used Viscaria SALC. I was bit skeptical at first but I give it a go and my first choice is Sanwei Surge Prism.

This blade is quite head heavy for me. It's around 93 gr naked. I use Fastarc Max on FH and Vega pro on BH. Turns out this blade is a control hero for me. After some minutes of adjustment, I find this blade does the exact thing I want to do yet in slower speed. Lifting backspin ball, counter looping, spinny serve, flicks and blocking are just honest. I can say it's a true teacher for your hand. I can feel the blade is grabbing the ball much longer than Viscaria. Thanks to the limba top layer and inner carbon just above the ayous core. Throw angle is best. Most of the time I swing hard, the ball still landed on table with incredible spin and arc. Much different with when I use Viscaria SALC, the ball tends to past the table with less spin.

Never thought that my development was hindered just because I was obsessed with professional stiff blade like Viscaria SALC. I thought it would solve my playing problem, but rather Sanwei Surge Prism does that for me, as a beginner to intermediate level player.

For you who is still learning table tennis and just have trained for 1-2 years, I can tell this blade is for you. Sacrifice a bit of speed, but you'll get almost anything else, build your basis, save almost 80% of your money for later upgrade.

Never buy a stiff blade or off+ outer carbon blade unless you already master footwork, timing, spin and control. Until that time comes, you should consider using inner carbon blade and Sanwei Surge Prism is an exceptional first blade for you. You can adapt to stiffer blade later.
