Simply fast when you want it to be. It’s true; it’s outer carbon but as if it is inner carbon at the same time. Will take time to get used too. Is it worth the price? In my personal opinion; yes. Feels like an all wood blade when not fully engaging the carbon but you definitely feel it when using it and quickly feel the carbon. It’s like you have to mentally engage your mind to know and understand the feeling when the carbon initiates. Hope this helps someone out
