→ Nittaku Blades → Nittaku Violin
I've been a FL backhand dominant player and since ever I've been introduced to the sport, been playing with Chinese or Sweden made paddles, out of which I've liked the Chinese the better as the FL handle fits best in my small hand contour. Recently, I bought used old tag Nittaku Violin out of curiosity for an allwood blade. I've seen players complaining about the handle size too small but the one that I bought, fits perfectly in my hand and being said, this is my first Straight handle blade. Paired it with Victas 401 on FH, Tibhar ELP on BH. Noticed that slight adjustment was needed on Forehand strokes due to the ST handle, but it was no brainer on Backhand, it was so effortless and very spinny. IMO, this blade favors the feel factor in linear spin strokes and offers medium trajectory with controlled arc. Flat hits are also good. Comparing it with DHS H301 blade, with ALC construction that I used for almost 2 years consistently, interesting that I felt Nittaku Violin is a notch harder and slightly more stiff (could be due to the blade being less head heavy and small handle to compensate on the flex). Also if you get the right weight ~ between 85-90G, It doesn't feel slow even in the modern plastic ball era.
