Note that this review is of speed glued Hammond on a 5 ply Off- wood blade.
I wanna glue! I've been struggling to find a no-glue forehand rubber that agrees with me. I broke down and glued up a sheet of Hammond just to see if I was imagining how good the "good old days" really were.
I wasn't! Glued up Hammond is fast, plenty spinny enough, loud, has great feel, all the gears, and a silly amount of control. It is super easy to counterloop with, loop from close or far, block with, flip, counter, and smash with. There are rubbers that push and serve better, but it is better than adequate here too.
Among my top couple favorite (all-time) rubbers...
