After experimenting with a wide range of professional backhand rubbersincluding Tenergy 05/05FX/80, Tibhar Evolution EL-P and Fastarc G-1I kept running into the same problems: excessive springiness, unpredictable blocking, and inconsistent touch in the short game. These rubbers all had plenty of speed and spin, but they were simply too lively for my backhand, this is because I have a naturally powerful stroke which engages the rubbers catapult effect causing unforced errors. I turned to Mark V but this proved too slow.
The Nittaku Fastarc C-1 ultimately solved those issues. Its biggest strength is its linear, predictable response: it provides power when I choose to engage, yet stays composed and controlled during passive shots and delicate touches. The grippy topsheet makes handling heavy spin on service returns noticeably easier, and the medium-soft sponge offers a forgiving feel that produces safe, high-arc opening loops. Blocking is also more stable thanks to the rubbers ability to absorb pace without sending the ball long.
What surprised me most is how the C-1 combines the control and speed of EL-P with the grip and spin reminiscent of Tenergy 05FX, all while giving me better command over my aggressive backhand game. It has noticeably improved my consistency on my flicks, drives, loops and pushes slightly inconsistent on flat hits but overall it has improved my shot selection. Very underrated rubber I would highly recommend it for players who value spin and control and who can generate their own power this rubber is amazing.
