review: Donic Bluefire, max., black:
straight to the facts: the Bluefire m2 is heavier and produce a higher arc than the Acuda s2. on slow game it seems to produces a little bit more spin but in my point of view it cannot compete with the acuda s2 when you are doing topspins from middistance.
The feeling on my Donic Dotec Persson was horrible in the first times of playing but it was getting better after few hours. Anyway i personally have a much better feeling with the Acuda S2 on my blade. The Bluefire seems to be harder although they say it has a softer topsheet but so i think it is the sponge which make the difference.
the first topspins where flying over the table because of the higher arc but when you go away from the table the speed this rubber produce seem to be somehow limited. It has not the top gear which the acuda has. the spin it is producing seems to be similar to the Acuda S2. for me the only advantage when playing topspins with the bluefire is when you have to rescue a very low ball in front of you. lifting up these balls is quite easily - the acuda fails here. but in the end for topspin i prefer the acuda because of the better feeling and acceleration and the top gear when you are far away from the table or in topspin - counter topspin rallies.
when you play drives or smash the speed is good enough quite the same like the acuda. control when you are blocking a ball is quite good for a spin offensive rubber.
when it comes to choping i think it succeeds over the acuda. slightly slower and maybe slightly more backspin in this technique. flicking is also easy with this one.
