I recently tried the Butterfly Zyre-03, and my impression is that it’s a very high-quality rubber, especially for players who like to hit through the ball rather than relying solely on brushing. When you really engage the sponge, the spin is excellent, and it feels particularly strong on flat hits and counterattacks. If your game is more brush-oriented, though, it can be harder to unlock its full spin potential — I found that to be true for myself.
On the backhand, it performs very well for flicks, chiquitas, and quick counters. On the forehand, it’s fast and spinny, but it does take some adjustment to control consistently. The rubber is definitely on the firmer side, so getting the most out of it may take some time.
I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners, but for players who enjoy a fast, spin-heavy style and can handle the extra demands, it’s a lot of fun.
I’m using it on a Fan Zhendong ALC, like Amy Wang.
