Highly specialized high-quality rubber for a limited number of players with a very narrow range of playing styles. I truly appreciate the excellent mechanical grip of the top sheet, but for someone whose strokes are more brush and less hit into the rubber, it is not as easy to get the results I want. This has been confirmed by coaches as well and it explains why I am back to Dignic's 05. Generating spin on the serve is not easy because you have to dig into the rubber more and that makes it difficult to produce low short serves with heavy spin. Countering and flat hitting is what this rubber is best at. If you are more of a hitter, if you hit the ball first and then brush it, this could be an amazing wrapper for you. When you dig into the rubber it will produce massive amounts of spin. But if you brush more than you hit like I do, you will struggle to see more spin than other rubbers. I appreciate the innovation from butterfly, but for someone like me, I prefer my pips to be longer than shorter, and butterfly is offloading the responsibility of the pips onto the sponge, which I'm not sure will resonate with a lot of players.
