I am a good intermediate level player that can loop on both sides. I was using a JOOLA carbon blade with 4-you rubber and was ready to upgrade. I put Tenergy 05 and 05 FX on the TB-ZLC. Immediately my smash and block got better, but I had a hard time keeping the ball on the table. I used it for 2 months without much improvement. My backhand loop and pushes were worse. The bottom line for me is the ZLC has less margin for error and less gears (I don't think it's a technique issue). My confidence waned. I switched to a Stiga Rosewood with the same 05 rubber and no one will ever get that paddle out of my hands. I have way more feel with it. It has more gears. I can loop backspin much easier. The power is still there, but with way more control. I would only recommend the TBZLC to advanced players who have the practice time or skill to give up margin of error, and want the fasted beast they can get. I've since read not many top level players are using this ZLC technology, and based on my experience it doesn't surprise me, but I'm not an advanced player.
