Butterfly Sriver
I am a developing player. I usually play intermediate players with an occasional advanced player. There is a good variety of players at my club. Used 2.1 mm sriver on FH and BH. This was my first custom rubber and I wanted something that had a lot of control. I can get good spin on serves with good control. Returning serves are overall pretty good. Going against more advanced players I found it more difficult to return serves but that is probably just my technique. Close to table hitting, this is a very good rubber especially with FH or BH drives. It has many gears to it but at a slow pace you have to put a lot of effort into it to get it over the net. When I drop a ball onto it, the rubber seems dead as the ball doesn't bounce much. This was an adjustment to my previous premade racket. I love using BH flicks against backspin and this rubber is decent at that. Sometimes it is hard to control it but it takes a lot of focus to get it right. FH flicks close to table are same way. I found the throw angle to be medium-low so this is probably the reason for this. Blocking is difficult but this is probably just my technique. Looping away from table is very tricky to stay consistent. This rubber is a beast close to table but away from table it is very hard to control. Overall I am satisfied with this rubber. I am looking to upgrade to something faster but I recommend this rubber to players who are looking for their first custom rubber.
