I am very excited to write this review for anyone like me to try D09c. The best rubber I have ever used considering I used D/T for about 10 years! I am a USATT 2100 level player. 70% time, my strategy is backhand open with strong low spin + punch at next ball + two swing loop afterwards. I seldom do a powerful loop.
To me, Rubber is like cars. Normally there are two gears: one is T/D rubber with terrific speed but less short ball control and the other is like sticky H3 with extreme spin without much speed.
When I use T/D, I have strong spin (not much speed/power) in the first open, my opponent normally try to do a soft touching block because counter loop is not quite realistic at similar level as mine. I played with 2700 professional and they could literally counter loop any ball :). Then, the ball is normally short with top spin and normally mid-high. At that time, punching is the natural choice . The problem of T/D is the speed is too much to hold the ball and normally, it will go out immediately and out of the line. D09c is a really beast to handling that case. It is sticky so I could hold the ball much longer and when it touch spring sponge, speed is maintained there. T/D is like a speed beast but before you fully use its potential, the ball is out already. D09c is not that fast but since you could fully use the sponge underneath, the quality is much better than D/T. Besides, due to the sticky surface, short game pushing/serving is much better than T/D series.
That is why I am very excited that D09c is ONLY rubber having TWO gears and highly recommend it !
