I used the fastarc G1 for 2 years on fh and wanted something with a catapult that takes less power to activate. Fist impression of the r48: faster, softer and a lower curve compared to G1. Opening up is much easier tho due to the catapult and softer feeling. Fast topspin and flat hits have much more power. Overall I think you need less effort to create good quality compared to g1. Shortgame is ok, but you need to engage the ball, if you are too passive the ball will bounce high do to the catapult. Looping and topspin topspin is great. All in all this rubber is so much fun to play (and the sound is great, too). Definitely a rubber that suits offensive players with a good technique, however I find it easier to play than for example a vega x or t05. Beginners or players that are still in the process of developing a solid technique should probably use a slower and softer rubber with less catapult, but I think every player with a somewhat good technique can have fun with this rubber, not just high level players.
