I tested the R48 several sessions on my robot. So I will update the review when I can play against a teammate.
My ratings are in comparison of my review of R47. The hardness is quite the same. I don't feel softer than the 48. But, it grab the ball really better than the R47. So you feel a longer dwell time. That's the trick with this one! You can impart huge amount of spin. I've never play with tacky chinese rubber, but the R48 is phenomenon! It's less direct in play than R47, I tend to topspin instead of hitting. For me that's the main difference between those 2. Control and speed are quite identical. The throw angle maybe just a little higher, but not much. I can see players with R48 in FH and R47 in BH. Again, it was on robot training, I'm looking forward playing in club with this rubber!!!
