Reviews of Nittaku Moristo LP (1)
Moristo LP 1.0 mm Soft, grippy pips with ribbed tips that bite the ball well. Feels super soft and elastic much softer than Hellfire X (0.5). The pips are closer together, which makes everything feel more controlled and predictable.
Blocks are solid. I can just stick the racket out and the ball lands on the table. No surprises, but theres enough wobble to annoy the opponent. Pushes are very safe and easy, and thanks to the thicker sponge theyre faster than with Feint Long III (0.5) or Neptune (0.7), often landing right on the white line and giving the opponent no time to react. You can even attack with confidence hitting with an open racket is easier and more consistent than with Feint Long III, Neptune, or Hellfire X.
From mid and long distance, chops are very consistent and spiny as well. The sponge adds a bit of speed, so the ball carries nicely, but you need to adjust your timing a little since its quicker than the other rubbers I mentioned.
Compared to Hellfire X, Moristo LP is less evil but much more reliable. With Hellfire X I could sometimes create nasty balls, but I also made a lot more mistakes. Neptune is a bit more spinnier and trickier from far back, but much less stable in the short game.
Overall, Moristo LP feels like a truly defensive rubber you feel safe in the 2nd and even 3rd zones but at the table it gives you control, stability, and the option to attack when the chance comes. Its not the most poisonous LP out there, but it makes me confident in rallies and that wins more points in the end.
