Reviews of Nittaku 3-Star Premium 40+ Poly Ball - Pack of 12 (57)
If there is another kind of balls that is better than this, they are not available in the market yet. Second to none.
Because each boxes 2 out of three balls are bad. It doesn’t last long.
Please next time keep an eye..
This ball is expensive but it is the official ball of all USATT tournaments here in the state of Florida. It takes some getting used to but if you are serious about competing you better get used to it!
This ball marks up quickly, does not stay bright and starts off as more of a matte finish than its predecessor the Nittaku premium cellulose ball. Maybe 40+ orange balls some day will correct this. Nice ball, but could be more visible. As far as the ITTF goes, you can have the men who make the laws. ....Thanks to regmonta for great reviews here and elsewhere.
This ball has a seam! It is two piece and when it lands on or near the seam the ball will off-bounce. It possesses a lot of grip when brand new. The ball is spiny and will come back into the net or back over the net on some serves. I prefer the KINGNIK ball 40+ ball to this one.
I might have just received a bad patch of 3. Where the ball seam is it protrudes. Without looking I am able to find the seam by feeling with my finger tips 100% of the time. It effects the bounce on the table and probably off the paddle, (haven't seen if it wobbles yet). For such an expensive ball I'm disappointed. Compared to my celluloid balls and cheap pack of 100 (3 star) balls their seam does not protrude and I can't find it with my eyes closed. I can provide pictures/video as proof.
Megaspin Edit: We were surprised as these came from Nittaku. Customers was refunded.
still the closest to a real ball. they can charge a price for familiarity, and they do.
As of Apr 6, 2017, this ball is still the best of class. It's heavier than most other brands but extremely consistent and fairly durable. I just wish it wasn't so ridiculously expensive!
