still the closest to a real ball. they can charge a price for familiarity, and they do.
As of Apr 6, 2017, this ball is still the best of class. It's heavier than most other brands but extremely consistent and fairly durable. I just wish it wasn't so ridiculously expensive!
Best plastic ball on the market. The ball is supposed to weigh 2.7g (according to ITTF) and it does. Extremely consistent and round. You get what you pay for. If you want a cheaper option try Nittaku 2 star plastic ball - it's almost identical except with slightly larger variations in weight.
Weight: 2.7 +/- 0.02g (ITTF requires: 2.67-2.77g).
Of the polyballs, I've played with Gambler,XSF, Kingnik, Butterfly poly and G40 poly, Yinhe, and this ball. This is by far the favorite for me. It spins nicely on loop unlike the G40, speed is good, and it is extremely durable. It also doesn't seem to dent or warp over time like some other poly balls (XSF, Yinhe). I have 100s of hours on my Amicus robot with these balls, and I have broken two by stepping on them perfectly. Usually they just shoot out from under my foot unharmed. Great ball!
I'm just your basic novice player, 6 to 10 of us play on a regular basis either in a basement or garage. We been doing this for about 3 years now and have tried a hand full of balls, this by far is the best. Pricey but man the action you get from these is Incredible . The reason for 4 stars is they seem to get slick or shiny and start to loose some of its grip. As of now we won't purchase anything else.
