Reviews of Butterfly Amicus Prime - Refurbished Grade B (11)
Megaspin team and Butterfly's Robot team are terrific! My Butterfly Amica Prime broke down after one year of normal usage. At first, I didn't have time or energy to follow the instructions given by Larry(Butterfly Robot team) to repair the robot. So I kind of gave up. One year later, I was asked to provide my feedback. So I told my experience with Butterfly robot that I had so far and gave a low rating on Megaspin. Then Bernard from Megaspin team contacted me and said my robot was still under warranty and I should send it back to Butterfly for repair. He even contacted Butterfly directly and helped smooth out the repair process. It took about a week afrer I sent back my robot. It was fixed and was sent back to me. I am very happy things worked out! Thanks to Megaspin team's help to speed up the process.
The robot is working great again. This helps us with training on the routine exercises.
I liked it at the beginning, but then it started misbehaving. For example, randomly changing placement of the ball during a drill, throwing balls off the table or against the net randomly, and finally, it broke and stopped shooting balls after the 20th time I used it. Unfortunately, I haven't found anyone to repair it. Unacceptable for a $2,000 robot.
This is a good robot but you need to adapt to it and it's disappointing considering the price. First of all, if you don't want the robot to shoot random balls buy good 3-star balls, 1 star won't work well. You'll get random direction and you won't be able to do exercises. Then be patient, the app is buggy but eventually can do the work if you know how to workaround. You can use your phone rather than the old, cheap, slow and useless tablet that comes with the robot. Butterfly could have made this cheaper by just avoiding the tablet, the cable and the standee for the tablet. By the way the standee doesn't work well on new Butterfly tables. Kudos Butterfly for this pile of rubbish.
I love this ball machine - easy to set up different shots that I want to work on and combinations.
Much easier to use the Amicus app on my iPhone - the tablet they include with it is crap. I went through three of them before I just threw it away.
this is the the best robot i have been playing for two year now. i give a 5 star
