XIOM Jekyll and Hyde C55
XIOM developed Jekyll and Hyde C55. This is the first dual-tension rubber with X-Factor that doesn't require booster dual tension and is already built-in. This was made possible only by artificial intelligence. Jekyll and Hyde C55 has a thicker top sheet, shorter pimples, and a more compact pimple arrangement.
The Jekyll and Hyde C55's top sheet is coated with optimized stickiness and minimized gap, ensuring an enhanced feel when hitting the ball. The optimized integration between the top sheet and sponge further enhances this experience, providing a clearer, more intuitive feel.
Inside the Jekyll and Hyde C55, XIOM's new sponge engineering technology, Epsilon sponge, features smaller and more uniformly distributed bubbles. This, combined with the low pimple geometry, increases the energy transfer from the sponge, ensuring that even when hitting far away, the sponge can power more directly deliver to the ball.

Look, this is the most professional rubber for amateurs, it's super easy to play. You can hit flat, you can loop, you spin the ball with a flick of your wrist, you can serve whatever safely without even thinking about it, not trying hard. My knock on this rubber would be the tackiness that wears off relatively speaking quickly, but it's expected. It's also heavy, and it's going to mess the balance of your setup a lot, especially if you are going to have it for forehand and backhand because it can work for both, but trickier for backhand considering the hardness and the throw angle. Summing up I can say that this is the rubber I would recommend for all carbon blades owners who want some control, spin and variation in their game.

Tested this on my Innerforce carbon and wasn't disappointed nor excited. This is definitely not the spinnest rubber as the rating might suggest. It's spinny, sure, but not 9,8 spinny. Hurricane 3 is definitely spinnier.

Pro rubber with great feeling. why can't we buy the maximum thickness of this rubber in Europe? only 2.1 is available, the rubber that is produced in Germany is not available in the country of origin :D

this is such a great rubber! short game, it offers nice touch, great control. when you need control, it gives you control, when you need speed and power, it will give you speed and power. when you are caught in a bad moment, it will help you. ok ok, you still have to play, it's not rubber that will play instead of you. but it will help you. and most importantly- it will make you enjoy table tennis.
not a beginners rubber, though. still fast, still need some good technique to extract all the potential out of this rubber. plays way softer than 55, feels like 50 rubber. catapult is sort of progressive - the more you ask from the rubber, the more it will give you, ie, close to table, blocking, you are in control, but if you want to add more power, you will have it. if you are in mid distance, just putting spin on the ball, it will do just that, but if you engage more sponge, add more power, it will engage catapult and help you. boy oh boy, do I enjoy playing with this one!
unfortunately, I hit the table after 14 days of playing and cannot vouch for durability, but will probably get a new one soon (have some other rubber to test first).
blade used - Xiom AJH TMXi.

Updated ! ( - I had to correct my table ratings. ) Dear Hugo Calderano, dear Xiom Team, ... dear KI, ;-P thank you so much for this amazing rubber !!! Facts: minimal sticky black rubber with 55 degree sponge, 2.1 mm. 106 g. in original packaging and 72 g. uncut. Cut to 157 x 150 mm, 48 g. (second one: black, 47 g. by 155 x 147 mm.) Tested on an XVT ZL Koto. (... very fast outer blade, rubber glued with solvent-based glue!) FIRST impressions:This rubber plays very controlled and not as hard as advertised. What was particularly striking to me was that my first topspins flew very, very far, which initially required some adjustment. The trajectory was high and the rotation absolutely outstanding. - I think we have "THE NEW SPIN MONSTER" here. Unfortunately, returning the opponent's serve isn't quite so easy. It requires good technique! Playing over the table, on the other hand, was easier than I expected! Serve and Counterspin are amazing with this rubber !!! A few days ago, I (to my shame, finally) learned the difference between the terms tackiness and stickiness in a video. In this regard, I had to change my rating for the 55.0c (as is now necessary for several of my other reviews!!!) Addendum: after feeling on various blades that this rubber took on too much opponent rotation, I now have it on my Butterfly Z. JK. TAMCA 5000. Interestingly, the rubber is now considerably less susceptible to spin. - oh yes, the rubber is only minimally sticky and can only hold the ball for a short moment!
