DHS Hurricane 8 - 40 Degrees

Select color/thickness:

4.5/5

Hurricane 8 is a new generation of sticky-speed rubber. The rubber keeps a good balance between flexibility and elasticity. A new high-density sponge with 'Macro-Cell' and 'High-Elasticity Particle Osmosis' technology helps Hurricane 8 raise the elasticity by 15%. The player can also acquire a high shot speed with weak attack.

Hurricane 8 provides unique spin and unpredictable arc and enhances shot speed significantly, which brings a refreshing feeling for offensive players.

Hurricane 8 is specially designed to enhance the spin and speed of 40+ celluloid-free balls.

Hurricane 8 Mid has slightly softer sponge than Hurricane 8 Hard.

Hardness: 40 degrees
Speed: 92
Spin: 98
Control: 74

Reviews of DHS Hurricane 8 - 40 Degrees (51)

This is surprisingly fast. No boost added. 39 degrees red colour on HL5. Loop brushing is fantastic. The sponge bites the ball easily and creates that linear long catapult with minimal arc. Fantastic shots can be executed. The opponent always expect for ball to jump but in the end they all miss the contact and ball pass under their racket. The arc is medium high and is easy to create. You just need to brush with a forward motion even against medium backspin. Much better at smashing than HE NEO. Very easy to do flicks. Even 2 meters away from the table is performing nice.

Slow but good.

Currently using boosted for FH and BH (41 hardness and 2.15mm both sides) on TSP phoenix fire OFF+; a stiff wooden blade but still flexes and slower than carbon blades at an affordable price.

Exceptional forehand rubber compared to the neo H3 for 28. Has more speed and less spin at low to mid speeds but a high speeds has about the same spin as H3. With the higher throw angle its definitely a FH rubber as BH can get caught out with some slightly less predictable shots as to generate the spin, my racket needs to start deeper on the stroke and sometimes I dont have the reaction to get there. I had yinhe big dipper on BH and much prefer that to the H8 as the throw angle isnt nearly as high. I feel the H8 is a stronger rubber overall than H3 except with service as it doesnt seem as tacky as the H3 but it might be the batch I got.

Much harder smashes and powerful, spinny looping with some effort. Definitely worth the price on a budget for forehand.

When I glued this DHS 8 to the Yinhe Pro-05 base with DHS N15 glue, playing it on the open (right) side of the racket, I really liked the strong spin with maximum ball control and high ball speed. The only downside of this rubber is the large weight of the rubber - 52 grams in the cut form of the rubber, but for $ 18 in AliExpress you can buy it safely. This rubber does not dry for a long time.

The most spinny and tacky rubber I have used. I played it without boosting, and I can generate more spin with it than my Battle II provincial orange sponge. Speed is enough even when paired with my pure wooden blade, and the throw angle is a little higher than average. I can get good results without boosting it!
