Different companies have different colours for sponges and although this might mean something within the company there is no universal colour code.
Chinese sponges are heavier, they used to be harder although they are improving their soft sponges. They are less springy usually with less glue effect.
Euro/Jap sponges are lighter and usually softer (although not always). They are more springy with more glue effect.
