The advantage is trickiness since the spin passes through. Then there's the fact that chops are heavier since all the loop spin passes through. Of course, you don't have to worry about missing because of opponent's spin because it doesn't really affect your shot too much.

Is it woth it? Not to me...but some people do quite well with it.
