I find that playing consistantly rather than looking for effect is the way to go. I play national tournaments and over the years have found the likes of 837 and feint long 2 to be the best as they produce consistent returns with heavy spin plus mixing shots such as blocks and hits can be done easily, where as Dr Neubauer has great effect but is not consistent and can only perform either chop block or a push it is not a defenders rubber as it is very limited. Other pips which are good are Curl p1-r.
