My guess is you're trying to come over the ball and lift it like you do with inverted? You can only attack if the ball is above net height. Swing straight through for a spot just over the top of the net. Gravity should pull it down enough to touch the table. If you're countering loops though be careful. The spin passing through will make topspin. Of course there's not a whole lot of spin passing through with medium pips on sponge. Attacking bacspin is easier. The spin is already there so you should be able to roll it with a flip like you do with any other rubber. As a general rule though attacks should be from above the net and straight through the ball. |
