Zhe and Francis have pretty much explained the whole thing, but I'd like to add if you are trying also to develop a RPB (reverse penhold backhand) style with two rubbers, than there is also the reverse backhand to work with. I am assuming you are trying a chinese penhold, it that correct? I play japanese penhold myself and I would say that the advantage are the quicker and stronger forehand shots. Watch players like Ma Lin and Wang Hao for superb RPB technique.
