Truth is, no one except the players themselves and maybe a few very close friends has any idea whatsoever about the equipment they are using. The pros make money and get free equipment for saying that they use a particular blade and rubber. But you can be assured that they actually use whatever works best for them. I saw Waldner rip his rubber off and throw into the audience after his win against Matsushita at KillerSpin. Whoever caught those sheets might have a pretty good idea. I would be pretty surprised if Waldner was actually using an old school rubber like JO Waldner since I don't think it speed-glues all that well -- and I assume he does glue heavily.
