Try paint thinner, thats what I use to thin, pretty good, but stinks.Some use lighter fluid.

Cole suggested gluing, then covering the whole blade with cellophane (kitchen clear wrap) and leaving it for a while, really lets the glue effect build up, and stays effected for ages....I might try it tonight.
