It definitely is a hitting rubber. I bought it preglued to MRS 1.8mm, so I did not have the problems attaching it.

It is very lively with the MRS, and it is very good at returning spin. I was able to block/smash a strong underspin serve with it at one point.

What is most interesting about this experiment is that, although balls bounce higher off 799/mrs than treated Geospin Tacky, the balls which I was able to put into actual play with the GT were much faster. The treated GT throws like a catapult, while the mrs (with 799 or 729 Cream) bounces like a superball.
