Well, #2 Ma Lin and #4 Wang Hao use it. I think Korean Ryu uses it too, and he's just moved to #3.

Wang Liquin uses shake and he's #1. All the euro's use shake except a couple of misplaced chinese expatriots. Basically, it's a 5050 proposition. However, I think pen is harder to learn and find coaches that can teach.
