I know what you mean. I played the last Euro Champs and in some matches players were stopped from using certain pimples because they were to shiney or there wasn't enough grip on them. By all accounts there seems to be a lot of cheating going on in Germany with long pimples and they think everyone is doing it. Some of my friends playing in the 70's had to use old bats because there rubber were deemed to be to frictionless.
They couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. I think a lot was gamesmanship by there opponents. I use Mark V and Sriver so should be ok
