Honestly, I can't see why it'd be illegal. It's just so...stupid, really. I've seen a couple of two-handed backhand tennis players do this. They had about as much success as you might expect. It's just one of those weird, self-penalizing things that you'd think people would stop doing after they saw how it hampered their game.
