The following message (subject: Re: New rubbers from Neubauer) was posted by Ben, on 4/4/2008 9:33:27 AM:
Hi Fadil, Against Alan Cooke the ball is dropping even shorter even though Herbert is using the faster Antis of the 2 “Grizzly”. I think this is due to the fact that although Alan Cooke is very good his loops are not as powerful as Bastien’s. What I am saying is this rubber could be dangerous when used against your average level power looper. The tactic you are talking about, which is blocking until your opponent pushes a float ball then looping is pretty much my tactic, as I am sure it is the tactic of your students. Although I have not been playing this style for as long as you have and it is therefore not as close to my heart, I hope I don’t have to change. What I would also like to see is how this rubber behaves upon slicing back spin, I hope that it causes the ball to rise then WHAM, POINT OVER! My favorite sequence. Thanks, Ben.
