I'm not a great player so I try to shy away from giving playing advice and sticky to equipment, esp chinese. But I can tell you the generic things that you read or hear from most coaches. Any serve that goes off the table or above net height should be attacked. Short backspin can be either pushed or preferably flipped to the elbow or backhand. Sidespins short can be countered by pushing against the spin, or even better by going with and adding to it. The trick is, if you're going light on the return, to keep it short, low, and away from the opponent's power zones. Short top or cork is a harder serve to master and hardest to return. You've just gotta move your feet and get it covered over the ball. Perferably you can attack it and you won't see it again. |
