The plastic film should be removed before play. If you can save the plastic and put it back over the rubbers after you have played then that would be best. I suspect with a butterfly premade, the plastic will probably curl up and not be able to be put back on.
You could cut out a couple of sheets of paper to the shape of your rubber and use these to protect your rubbers in future or find some stiffer plastic to do the job. It will be good practice for if you get a better bat in future.
