The lightning is a Very new rubber. Probably wont find anyone that has used it yet. It looks interesting. It is ITTF approved which means that it is OK for tournement use.
I am not a beginner but coach young people and build bats for them. I will be ordering some sheets soon to try.
The speed is listed as 9 which by Zeropong ratings is slow. Spin at 11 which is good. Both perfect for you.
If I were you, I would get two sheets, (make sure you get one red and one black) and one of Zeropong 5 ply bats for $18 and you will have a good bat to progress with.
If you dont know how to put the rubber on, Zeropong will do it for free.
If you get it, post again how you like it. I'll do the same.
