Deep serves will work until you face an oponent who can loop them all for a winner. At a higher level of play a typical serve is an underspin serve that bounces twice on the other side of the table this is much more difficult to attack. At lower levels deep and fast serves can be used to surprise or overpower your oponent and get a service return error. As you face better oponents they will be more and more difficult to suprise and your priority will shift from trying to win the point outright with the fast serve, to a serve that cant be attacked that will allow you to take the innitiative with the 3rd ball.
