Sorry i've never tried 1.9 or 2.1. But i am using max on my backhand at the moment...and i'm loving it. The control is pretty good for a max sponge and spin is adequate for topspin purposes. My opinion is that the sriver family is best for "close to the table" play. They are not fast rubbers so if you hit from 2-3 ft away, your shots can be predictable to the opponent.
